Hi - I’m Dr. Drea Tuott (she/her/hers)
I am a licensed Psychologist located in Minneapolis, Minnesota. I earned my doctorate in Counseling Psychology at the University of St. Thomas. I completed my predoctoral internship at the Guidance Center in Leavenworth Kansas and my post-doctoral hours at CARE Counseling and RockBridge Counseling and Mental Health in Minnesota where I worked with individuals including teens and adults experiencing challenges such as adjustment across the lifespan, obsessions and compulsions, post-traumatic stress, relationship stressors, time management concerns, grief, depression, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, adjustment to life transitions, and racial identity development through individual and couple counseling.
I currently supervise students in practicum, provide individual and couple counseling for adults, and support the Minnesota Psychological Association’s Legislative Committee. I also have experience and training in executive coaching for healthcare professionals and entrepreneurs.
Throughout my training, I have gathered experience in therapeutic modalities such as Acceptance and Commitment therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Narrative therapy, and Somatic therapy. I garner my cultural sensitivity from traveling around the world and studying abroad for multicultural training in Southeast Asia.
There is something uniquely special about partnering with an individual or couple in their goals to influence the change in their lives. Life is going to change, and in that process it will change us across our whole life. My hope is that every person has the opportunity to participate in what that change will look like. I believe in collaboratively creating an inviting space for people to safely notice their internal world. You can learn to find the strength within to slow down, take care, understand and honor values, and set boundaries as you meaningfully learn to move about your world in new ways.
