Hi - I’m Jennifer Fields, MA (She/Her/hers)
Relationships are an important part of how I understand people and the process of therapy. I believe we are shaped by our experiences and connections with others, which can influence how we see ourselves, relate to others, and move through the world. In therapy, I strive to create a warm, genuine, and non-judgmental space where clients feel heard and understood. Together, we can approach experiences with curiosity, better understand patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and explore new ways of relating to yourself and others.
I work with clients experiencing anxiety, OCD, depression, trauma, relationship concerns, and significant life transitions. I am also interested in working with clients around identity, belonging, meaning, and questions related to faith and spirituality. I recognize that each person brings a unique history, culture, set of relationships, and way of making sense of the world, and I aim to approach those experiences with openness and respect.
While my work is grounded in a relational and person-centered perspective, I tailor therapy to the needs and goals of each client. I draw from evidence-based approaches including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), exposure-based interventions, and trauma-informed approaches.
I earned my master’s degree in counseling psychology from Saint Mary’s University of Minnesota and am currently a doctoral student in the PsyD Counseling Psychology program there. My clinical experience includes both university counseling and private practice settings, working primarily with emerging adults and adults.
Outside of my professional life, I enjoy spending time outdoors–especially hiking, biking, and camping–as well as spending time with family and friends and my two dogs.
